Who : BestWestern
What : dirty, Smoking
When we arrived at West Yellowstone, we checked in to the Best Western Desert Inn. We had made all reservations in advance and non-smoking rooms were requested. When we checked in, we were told that our reservations were for smoking rooms and that those were the only rooms available. We told them that we specifically requested non-smoking but they insisted that we didn't. Because those were the only rooms they had, we checked the rooms out. When I opened the door to my room, the room smelled like a stale, filthy ashtray; when I turned on the light switch, none of the lights worked. We talked to the owner, a mother and son, at the front desk. We told them about the horrible condition of their rooms, they showed no concern and just told us "sorry that's all we've got." We told them we are not staying in those filthy rooms and requested that they find us another motel to stay in. They told us we won't find any other places to stay, but they reluctantly called another motel and they had lots of rooms available. We thanked them and started walking out to our cars. Instead of apologizing to us, the older woman just said, "have a nice day." How sarcastic can you get?
